Nicole’s Story

I never planned to become a Realtor.

I was happily a stay-at-home, homeschooling mom of 4 little kids, living the Pioneer Woman dream on my little 2.5 acres on Whidbey Island.

One day that world ended. I had no choice but to leave for me and for my kids. How would I do it? How could I support my kids? I had no job experience since teaching music lessons in high school. What would I even put on a resume? “Makes a mean meatloaf and can multitask like a boss.”

I walked out that day because it was what I needed to do, but I had no idea how on earth I was going to support myself.

A few months prior I was at a barbeque with a new group of friends. The wife was a real estate agent and her husband was a home inspector. It was one of the early summer nights where you really appreciate the end of the cold season. We ate lamb burgers and sat by the fire.

She pulled me aside and told me she thought I’d make a good Realtor.

I kind of laughed and thanked her for the compliment.

Fast forward to the newly single mom life, I called her up and told her what I had done. “I did it. I left. Now, what am I going to do?” She hired me on the spot. She said she didn’t even need an assistant, but if I needed a job, I got one.

I put my kids in school the next day and started on my new path, real estate assistant. It opened me up to this whole new world. I found that I actually liked going to work. I decided to take my real estate course so I could help take on some more responsibilities. Ironically, the day I passed my real estate license exam was the same day I went on my first date with my now-husband. Who knew that day was so pivotal in my life?

I hopped around at my office helping where I could. Everyone I worked for took the time to teach what they knew.

I got an incredible behind-the-scenes look at what a busy real estate agent’s life was like. They inspired me.

The day came to leave the security of Whidbey Island and move to my new adventure in Snohomish. I had two choices. I could stay the employee. It was a secure paycheck after all. Or I could see if this real estate thing was something I could do on my own. I saw the passion these other agents had. I decided to take that chance and become a Realtor.

Leaving my first home I bought was an emotional day. I bought that home at 24 years old, and it was there for me when I became that single mom. That home then became an investment property for me when I moved to Snohomish and turned it into a rental.

I know how powerful a home can be in someone’s life. It’s your safe haven.

It’s where your kids take their first steps. It’s where you grew in your relationships with friends and family. It should be a place where you feel at peace.

I’m now many houses down the line from that first house. When I married Rob, it was the 6 of us in 1000 square feet. Packed in like little sardines, we'd always be moving piles from one place to the next. It was chaotic. Not what a home should be. We were able to sell that house and move up to our bigger house. Now we have 5 kids, and I’m able to homeschool again! That experience gave me renewed empathy for my clients. Moving can be hard, but when you have the help you need, you can do it!

I get to help other families get to the place they want to be. My clients always feel comfortable around me because I’m real with them. Education is important to me. I want my clients to have the tools they need to make those important decisions for their families. The best part? I get to show my kids through my work the qualities I want them to grow up to have. Kindness, compassion, authenticity, service, and integrity.

We all have a story, and I am always honored when a family lets me be a part of theirs.

Rob’s Story

Take your mark…GO!

Those words, used to start every competitive swimming race, dominated my life for nearly three decades. As a teenager I swam competitively and worked as a swim lesson teacher and lifeguard at the community pool (Hal Moe Pool, for those who grew up around Snohomish). I had a natural affinity for teaching and truly loved the process of helping students learn a new skill.

Fast forward a few years, I started coaching competitive swimming, spending 18 years as the Head Swimming and Diving coach for the Snohomish School District.

I was fortunate enough to enjoy great success and struggles during my time as a coach. As wonderful as winning state championships was, the real joy for me was the process. Coaching, helping others reach their goals, and realize their dreams, has always been a passion for me.

Several years into my coaching career I was offered the opportunity to help manage the beautiful Snohomish Aquatic Center.

I enjoyed a wonderful time being responsible for all aspects of the facility’s aquatic programming and all the associated staff, over 100 employees at any one time. In that role I was again blessed with the opportunity to mentor and coach young people who, like me, had a passion for helping others to reach their goals. After helping lead the facility to great success I found I was once again ready for a change. My wife had worked as a Realtor for several years, and one day as I listened to her coach new buyers through the home buying process…it hit me…working in real estate was a lot like coaching. Realtors help others reach their goals and realize their dreams with one of the biggest decisions a person or family can face…buying a home.

my wife and I were blessed with a beautiful baby boy (our 5th)!

After a wonderful period of time spent with my new son, I made the decision to leave my job and join my wife in real estate for the same reasons I’ve made almost every other important decision in my life. I value family.

In my youth, my energy was focused on helping young children learn to swim and be safe in the water. In my early adult life, I focused that energy on helping high school students learn how to believe in themselves and accomplish their goals as a swim coach. As a young professional, I guided an organization to success, and in the process helped hundreds of first-time employees start down the path that I started on so many years ago.

Now, my energy is focused on helping clients reach their real estate goals.

Buying or selling a home can be extremely daunting. However, with a professional at your side who truly wants to help you reach your goals, the process can be fun and fulfilling. I’d love to discuss how my experience can help you and your family spend better time together. Give me a call today. I’d be honored to help you on your real estate journey.

Brittany’s Story

From Mountain Girl to Real Estate Trailblazer: Finding Purpose and Helping Others in the Pacific Northwest.

Born and raised in Colorado, I’ve always had a special place in my heart for the mountains. After I finished school at the University of Colorado for Business Management, I decided I was ready for my next adventure. I followed my heart and moved to Washington. The mountains and the ocean were calling my name. The recreational lifestyle and food scene feed my soul.

I quickly settled into my new life doing what I went to school for, helping people.

I worked in managing properties, but I could feel the tug for something more. While it taught me the laws around housing and strengthened my ability to advocate for safe housing, I knew I could use my passion for helping people in a different way. I thought about going back to school, but sometimes life has other plans.

One day out of the blue, I got the worst phone call of my life.

My mom had cancer. I headed back home to Colorado and spent the next 6 months helping her be comfortable. When I came back to my everyday life in Washington, I felt a void that I soon filled with local cancer fundraising and awareness organizations. Being able to give back to people in need of support, funds and love gives my life purpose.

Inspired and ready for greater challenges professionally, I began studying for my real estate broker exam.

When I passed my test and received that coveted license, I knew finding a brokerage that aligned with my core values would be critical. I spent some time shopping around different brokerages, trying to find the right fit, and I found my tribe with RE/MAX Elite.

Now I get to travel all over the Puget Sound for my job, meeting people from all walks of life and helping their dreams come true. I am the happiest I have ever been because I am fulfilling my life's purpose, helping families find their homes in the Pacific Northwest. I know my mom would be very proud.

To this day I help support homeless efforts in my city through Ester’s Place, where women in need of shelter and clothing come for assistance.

I spend most of my volunteering hours at Hand in Hand, which is a non-profit in Everett that helps young children in crisis and in need. I personally donate money from every home I transact to support Children’s Miracle Network in Washington State.

Helping guide people through buying their first house, selling a memory filled home, or making educated investments to grow their wealth fills my cup.

Real estate is my passion, people are my purpose, and Washington is the place to be.
